Description: A Walk Down the Agile Coach Development Path with Lyssa Adkins and Michael Spayd For those of you ScrumMasters and project managers being asked to coach agile teams, you've probably already concluded that agile coaching can be rewarding and can also feel quite daunting. You wonder "What is my role on a self-organized team, really?" and "How can I successfully work with the challenging situations I face on a daily basis?"
For those of you managers and agile champions developing agile coaching capability in your organizations, you see that the ScrumMasters and coaches you already have a good but not great. Agile is not producing the results you hoped for and see that not much has changed -- not really. You need ScrumMasters and coaches who can stand strong to help teams and the organization work through impediments the hold back the great results. You wonder "How do I develop them? What do they need to know? How do they need to grow?"
For the last 18 months, Lyssa and Michael have been part of working groups to define learning paths for agile coaches, along with certification levels offered by the Scrum Alliance and ICAgile. This evening will be an exploration of the knowledge areas and skills of successful agile coaches, pathways to develop as an agile coach, and the certifications one can earn along the way.
Even if you don't care about certifications, come anyway. The learning paths can be used as a guide to your development whether or not you want the letters after your name.
This is an area that is emerging fast -- come hear the latest.
