Omaha Broomball Club

Broomball is so much fun that you will not even notice that you are getting a great cardio work out! It's basically a bunch of folks running on ice trying to whack a ball into a net. We welcome people of all skill levels, especially first timers. Men, women, young, old, singles, pairs, groups, all are welcome.

I got the idea for a meet up group at the 2009 Broomball Nationals. Several cities have broomball meetups so let us see how we do in the Big O!

We have been playing league broomball in Fremont and now have and opportunity to expand broomball back to Omaha proper. Moylan Ice Plex will host drop-in/pick-up broomball every Monday night at 6:30pm. We had a very successful 2010 summer with attendance on Tuesday nights. Friday nights over winter was a good time slot, but we change times with the seasons. Summer 2011 is Monday's at 6:30pm until further notice.

There are no dues to pay by joining this meetup group. I just want folks to give broomball a try and have a good time in the process. This site does cost money so I am looking for sponsors.

The Moylan IcePlex will charge $7.50 per person and $2.50 to rent a helmet and stick. This is similar in cost to pick up hockey or open skate. We'll continue this beginner level drop-ins as long as long as people keep showing up. Long term there are league and travel opportunities in addition to drop in nights, but I want to focus on getting a group started first.
