The Ancient Art of Rug Weaving
It has always been my dream to run rug weaving workshops from my store and pass on the secrets of rug weaving. It has finally become a reality! Our first class was well-received and a big success!
The next beginner's weaving class will start on June 19th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
There will be 3 sessions:
- June 19th
- June 26th
- July 10th
Classes will take place at HAYKO Fine Rugs and Tapestries (www.hayko.com) located at 857 Lexington Avenue (near 65th Street).
The cost will be $125 which includes instruction and materials (loom, yarn and needles).
You will get an introduction to rug weaving and learn how to make a rug from start to finish:
- creating the foundation
- weaving the kilim
- tying the knots
- finishing the rug
- removing it from the loom.
If you wish to register for the class, please contact me either by phone or e-mail. A deposit of $50 is requested in order to reserve your space. The class size is limited to 10 people and spaces will be assigned in the order that they are received.
