Starting in 2012, this group is going to be geared more towards beginners.
As the search industry has grown, I'm finding that brand new people are often intimidated at other events, and are hesitant to ask the simple questions.
My goal is to help educate members on the basic fundamentals of internet marketing, and ultimately, to get you out of this Meetup group and into my advanced group!
The two groups are separate for a reason.
- Do you already know what a title tag and description tag are?
- Do you know what "local search" means?
- Do you already understand "personalized search"?
- Do you know what backlinking means?
- Do you already use and feel comfortable with basic Google Analytics?
- Are You familiar with "anchor text"?
- Are you already using WordPress?
If you answered yes to a few of those questions, then this might not be the right group for you..

Who will run the meetings?
Scott Hendison will plan and present material at the meetings, but there will be plenty of interactivity too.
Scott is the CEO ofSearch Commander, Inc. and founder of SEO Automatic tools. He's a founding board member ofSEMpdx, speaks regularly at national search marketing conferences like Pubcon, and has over 10 years of experience in search.
Who Should Come to Meetings?
Business owners and key employees, and those just starting out in internet marketing, or "search engine optimization". There are some "need to know basics" and this is where you can learn them.

How Much Will Meetings Cost?
The price will vary. We'll try to meet in a private room, with seating, screen, projector, etc. so the cost will change depending on where we go.
At any paid meetings, some snacks will be included, and with additional menu items and beverages available for purchase.
Where Will We Meet?
My criteria for location is to be able to easily accommodate 15+ people, and have food and beverages (including alcohol) available for purchase.
