Open Data Meetup Board Game session
Details
Open Data NZ will be hosting an open data board game session the evening before Open Source Open Society - Open Data Day (on the 7th July) (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/open-data-day-tickets-25467037595).
Come along to learn about the principles of open data in a fun, relaxed and exciting new way - through the power of board games!
The open data board game (https://theodi.org/blog/open-data-board-game) was invented by the lovely people at the Open Data Institute (ODI) (http://theodi.org/) in the UK. The prototype we'll be playing with, was released openly online for people around the world to play and give feedback on areas of the game that may need improvement.
We'll introduce the game's rules and play through a couple of rounds (please feel free to join in as many as you like!). To wrap up the evening, we'll give you the opportunity to play a part in improving the game for others around they world and ask for any feedback to pass on to the ODI for review.
It will also be a great chance to meet and share ideas/knowledge with others in the open data space locally and for those coming in from out of town for Open Data Day - a great meetup point beforehand!
Numbers are strictly limited so make sure you RSVP here today! Please feel free to tweet throughout the night using the board game hashtag #OpenDataGame
Some refreshments and nibbles provided.
Look forward to seeing you there :)
