We're a group of Boston-area activists trying to make government more open and accessible.  We partner frequently with the Sunlight Foundation, other meetups like Hacks/Hackers and  the Boston Python user group, and local activists and office-holders to help make government more accountable at the national, state, and local level.

We have:

- monthly project nights, where folks can work on their own projects or our current group project, Open Cities

- coffee shop meetups for folks to discuss open government over a drink or two

- the occasional event like next month's "Submit Your Own FOIA-request" with Muckrock.com

Interested?  Join us, and feel free to post a question or suggest a meetup!  We also have a  mailing list you can join.

Also, check out this map of open government events around the country!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
