Talk description
Learn how InterSystems is shifting from traditional classroom training to training thousands of people anywhere, anytime using Open edX for Online Learning.
Hear how InterSystems’ strategy is transforming the learner’s experience, as well as creating a culture of learning internally and with its customers. Specific lessons learned and recommendations will also be shared with participants. This talk is especially valuable for corporate organizations just starting out with Open edX.
• How InterSystems addressed the challenge to meet highly-technical training needs and demands of our company internally and externally with partners and end-users using Open edX

Speakers
Janine Perkins, Project Manager, Online Learning – InterSystems
Janine is currently the Project Manager for Online Learning at InterSystems where she is helping the company move from offering mainly classroom training and videos to offering interactive online training, including online labs. Janine has been working in the online learning field for over 13 years and has experience in online learning development, implementing learning management systems and marketing. Previously, Janine was an implementation consultant at Centra Software, now Saba where she worked as an Implementation Manager to help customers launch online synchronous training.
Jim Breen, Director, Learning Services - InterSystems
Jim is currently the Director of Learning Services at InterSystems Corporation and has held the role for 14 years. As Director, Jim is responsible for all aspects of education and training worldwide, including: business development, global training teams, classroom delivery, online learning, tutorials, video-learning, certification, international university outreach and a global internship program. Jim is currently executing a strategic plan to foster a culture of learning at InterSystems by transforming learners’ experiences through the utilization of online learning, both internally as well as with customers.
Doug Foster, Manager, Online Learning - InterSystems
Doug Foster is currently the Manager, Online Learning for InterSystems where he is leading a team to transform how they develop and deliver training to their customers and partners. Prior to InterSystems, Doug was the Director of Learning Services for Boston Scientific where he led a centralized team responsible for their SuccessFactors LMS and all centrally managed training for 25,000 employees globally. Previously, Doug was the VP of Services for Click2Learn (now SumTotal Systems) where he lead a team responsible for the development of custom eLearning for clients such as Fidelity and Microsoft.
