Sydney Pub Meet

Our inaugural Sydney pub meet was so good we're doing it all again and this time it's going to be a regular thing. The OpenAustralia Foundation Sydney Pub Meet will now be a regular feature of the last Tuesday of every month.

Come along, say hi, and have a chat about open government, transparency, FOI, and civic hacking with us and friends. Share your latest project or find out about ours.

We’ll be sitting by the fire in the cosy Library room of the Woolpack Hotel, which is a short walk from Central Station. There’s good pub food and craft beers on tap – join us at 6:30 PM (for 7 PM).

Please RSVP so we can make sure they have room for us.

See you then :)

Hi everyone! We’ve just released information about an exciting event coming up in Sydney on August 4 – US whistleblower Thomas Drake, a former senior executive of the US National Security Agency will appear in discussion with Edward Snowden’s US defence attorney Jesselyn Radack, moderated by ABC broadcaster Quentin Dempster. More info at It’s free, but seats are strictly limited and attendees must RSVP using the links below. The event will be followed by networking drinks at a location TBA. Presented by MEAA and The Walkley Foundation, in partnership with Blueprint for Free Speech, this discussion will examine the threats to privacy arising from increased digital surveillance and the pressures whistleblowers confront in revealing what governments are doing in our name.

This will be their only Sydney appearance. Any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
