Workshop: Create a videogame in Unity

Description: This 3 hour, hands on session is an instructor led opportunity to build a simple video game using Unity (the game engine used in popular games like Rocket League, Kerbal Space Program, and Hearthstone). Participants will follow along as the instructor guides them through the implementations of the core elements that are common across all types of video games. This iteration of the workshop will feature the development of an Asteroid clone.
Bio: Yvan Boily is a security engineer at OpenDNS based in Vancouver, previously working government, global finance, and open source projects, and an avid gamer, including RPG, tabletop and video games.
Requirements: Participants who wish to follow the instructions will be required to have downloaded the Unity3d framework, and one of MonoDevelop or Visual Studio. Please ensure these tools are downloaded and installed before coming to the session as the timeline is fairly strict for each module of the workshop.
