August OpenStack Meetup Virtual Networking and Containers

August OpenStack Meetup Virtual Networking and Containers

Details

Hello all - our August session will hit on some of the HOTTEST topics in the world of OpenStack - namely containers and SDN! Join us and our co-sponsor Midokura to learn about Docker inside Openstack.

OpenStack's Nova-Docker project has brought the reality of using containers inside an OpenStack environment to everyone. However the real problem of Neutron networking gets amplified when running lots of containers.

Midokura will be providing a high level overview of how to use Nova-Docker in a production environment by leveraging an open source SDN solution called MidoNet. Join us if you are interested in learning about Docker inside OpenStack with production grade networking!

Presenter: Cynthia Thomas is a Systems Engineer at Midokura. Her background in networking spans Data Center, Telecommunications, and Campus/Enterprise solutions. Cynthia has earned a number of professional certifications, including: Alcatel-Lucent Network Routing Specialist II (NRS II) written certification exams, Brocade Certified Ethernet Fabric Professional (BCEFP), Brocade Certified IP Network Professional (BCNP), and VMware Technical Sales Professional (VTSP) 5 certifications.

But there is MORE!

In addition to Midokura, we will have a quick talk with Brad Anderson of InfoBlox. Infoblox is the leader in providing core network services like DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management. For virtual environments like OpenStack Infoblox offers a completely automated provisioning and reclamation solution for IP Addresses.

Infoblox has contributed three Neutron blueprints to OpenStack: Neutron IPAM (Accepted for Liberty), Generic DNS Subsystem, and DHCP Relay. By plugging into the corporate Infoblox DDI solution you bypass all manual (de)provisioning processes for IP space.

Reminders:

NEW LOCATION - Tech Ranch has moved to 8920 Business Park Dr, Suite 250, Austin, TX, 78759.
