Hello everyone - here we are post OpenStack Summit. Come on out and Meetup on OpenStack! Our May topic is sure to be intriguing > we will be reviewing new emerging performance benchmarks for cloud implementations including SPEC Cloud.

What are these tools measuring and assessing? Can the results be trusted? How are these tools developed and validated? A key consideration is the performance of Cloud services, and end-users need reliable, verifiable data in order to decide which Cloud is right for them. This session will explore the emerging SPEC Cloud standard.

Meetup and learn how performance of the cloud is measured in the SPEC Cloud tool and how cloud solutions can be optimized to meet the conditions of the Service Level Agreements (SLA) and various performance requirements.

Also - bring your stories, impressions and feedback on the OpenStack Summit to share with the group, and we will do an open mic round table!

Speaker: Nickolas Wakou – is a Principal Performance Engineer with the Dell Cloud Solutions team. Nicholas's role, interest and activity is focused on the characterization and optimization of the performance of Cloud and Big Data solutions. Nicholas is also engages with Industry efforts to define performance benchmark specifications including SPEC Cloud committee and several committees of the TPC.

• NOTE: Rackspace security requires you provide a government issued ID in order to gain access to the facility. we recommend you arrive ~ 6:00 - 6:15pm.

• There will be a light dinner and soft drinks provided courtesy of Dell and Rackspce ~ 6:15pm - with networking time till about 6:45pm - we will kick off the speaking sessions ~ 6:45pm.
