Auto-scaling MySQL Database Services on OpenStack with ScaleDB, Ronen Ariely

Details

We have another great event lined up in conjunction with the OpenStack Online meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Cloud-Online-Meetup/) that you won't want to miss. Learn how to manage and orchestrate large-scale deployments on OpenStack in this excellent session.

Session Abstract:

ScaleDB is a storage engine that plugs in to MySQL/MariaDB that delivers enterprise-class scalability, dynamic cloud elasticity and high-availability that can easily integrate with OpenStack to provide the data store for your deployments.

It supports high velocity (streaming) data processing, eliminates the need to partition data, and supports fast data access and inserts while maintaining ACID compliance by using a shared-data clustering architecture, high-speed indexing and multi-node concurrency control. That said, ScaleDB needs orchestration and cloud management when it plugs into OpenStack. In this demo we will show how to do this with Heat & Cloudify that integrate together to build and manage a high availability, high performance ScaleDB cluster in the private or public cloud.

About the Speaker:

Ronen Ariely, CTO at Bizkit is a Technion graduate with expertise in electronics, computers and communication. As an IT professional he is experienced in Linux/Unix and all its flavors, cloud services and LMAP, technology as a system administrator and programmer. In his former capacity he was an integrator in the HLS industry.

We'd like to thank VMware Israel (https://www.vmware.com/il/) for hosting the event, and GigaSpaces (http://www.gigaspaces.com)for sponsoring food & drinks!
