OpenStack Essex just graduated to final release today! This calls for a celebration.

…But not just any celebration.  This calls for Essex-y party!

So put on your captain’s hat and join us for the second OpenStack LA Meetup. We’re going to continue the momentum from what was arguably the best inaugural user group event – ever.

The first speaker, Sean Roberts, who is behind the Infrastructure Strategy at Yahoo!, is set to present on the state of OpenStack. He’ll touch on what’s new in Essex, the future of Folsom, and more!

Carl Perry, is the Cloud Architect at DreamHost and he has put together a presentation on the real-world deployment of OpenStack. He’ll share with you tips, secrets and pitfalls associated with building a public cloud.

This is an exciting date because several of the attendees will have just participated the OpenStack Design Summit the week before. If there’s interest, I think it would be really cool to have a lightning round with a few of them to get their thoughts and takeaways on the design process and feature decisions for Folsom.

A dinner menu from Ocho Grill can be found below. You can count on beer, soda, coffee and tea.

The great Openstack presentations, with ample time for Q&A. This was one of the better meetups I have attened in the last year.

I can't wait for the Ceph preso.

For consistency sake, we'll be having at least one Meetup on the last Thursday of every month - rain or shine or stealth.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
