Deploying OpenStack with Mirantis FUEL

Abstract:

This will be a deep dive into the FUEL Project with OpenStack Express - a Private Public Cloud Offering and also a local FUEL Demo at the same time deploying a HA Configuration of Mirantis OpenStack and the ability to extend an HA Configuration of OpenStack to an existing quorum.

Billing and Tenant Management for OpenStack

Abstract:

Many cloud architects want to replicate Public Cloud-type rate plans and cloud services for OpenStack, while demonstrating competitiveness of their cloud services. However, the Openstack platform provides limited native visibility into the tenant resources, growth, and costs. OpenBook by Talligent, leveraging

data provided by the Ceilometer project, can provide visibility and control on infrastructure consumption, allowing companies to monetize their investment in OpenStack. The presentation will cover:

• Basic understanding of the Ceilometer project – what it does well, where it is limited, and where it is headed as a project.
Creating a rate plan for billing (public cloud) or chargeback/showback (private cloud).
Best practices for setting up key performance metrics and how Talligent OpenBook works with Ceilometer, Horizon, and Keystone to provide self-service automation and management reporting.
