Details

It's been a year of OpenStack Northwest User Group, and we plan to make this meetup special. We are going to have some fun.

Please bring your laptop, roll up your sleeves, and get ready for some hands on experience. We will supply a copy of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 in an OVA image and will work together through the installation and configuration of your own OpenStack Platform on your system.

Those who perceived OpenStack to be difficult to install will be surprised just how easy it is to stand up your very own cloud in an hour or less, depending on how fast your computer is.

If time permits, we will go over some troubleshooting techniques, and show you how you can add compute nodes to your test environment.

For minimum requirements, your laptop should have a 64bit CPU (i5/i7 recommended) and must have at least 4GB RAM, 30GB free disk space and a virtualization software that supports OVA (VMware Fusion/Workstation, VirtualBox, KVM/Libvirt, etc.)

If you don't have one, please download and install the free VirtualBox.com before the meetup to save yourself some time (We will have a copy if you didn't have the 5 minutes it takes to download and install it otherwise).

Thanks to Cisco for hosting and looking forward to seeing you there.
