Google+ Hangout & IRC Chat on Hyper-V Integration into OpenStack

Details

Welcome to the first OpenStack Online Meetup. We will have folks from Cloudbase Solutions and Mirantis with us, and we will talk about both companies’ contributions to get Windows workloads up and running on OpenStack. Please join our Google+ Hangout (https://www.youtube.com/user/OpenStackPoland) & IRC Chat (#openstack-community @Freenode).

Cloudbase Solutions

Cloudbase Solutions is offering products and services to integrate OpenStack with the Windows and Windows Azure worlds, including a compute driver for Microsoft Hyper-V.

Their involvement in the OpenStack community started with the inclusion of the Nova Hyper-V driver in the Folsom release and went on in just a few months with more Nova features, the Cinder Windows Storage driver, Cloud-Init for Windows and now Quantum, in time for the Grizzly release. Mirantis

Mirantis is the #1 pure play OpenStack systems integrator globally. They announced Murano (http://www.mirantis.com/blog/introducing-murano-bringing-windows-environment-to-openstack/) earlier this year, an initiative which aims to create a native OpenStack component for provisioning and operating Windows Environments. Murano introduces an abstraction level for Windows Environments, supports Availability Zones and Disaster Recovery scenarios. It also uses native Windows features for HA solutions. Our OpenStack Online Meetup will be co-hosted by Stephen Spector (Twitter: @SpectorTX (https://twitter.com/SpectorTX)) and Dave Nielsen (Twitter: @DaveNielsen (https://twitter.com/davenielsen)), both with HP.
