Topic 1) Deploying OpenStack using the Stackforge Ansible playbooks

This session is to provide a detailed review of how to deploy OpenStack using the community supported Ansible playbooks located on Stackforge GitHub repo ( https://github.com/stackforge/os-ansible-deployment ).

Bio:

Walter Bentley (@djstayflypro (http://twitter.com/djstayflypro)) is a Private Cloud Solutions Architect at Rackspace. He helps design and build OpenStack private clouds for organizations of all sizes. Walter started this NYC-based meet up because he sees how disruptive OpenStack can be in Enterprise IT and believes large enterprise adoption of OpenStack will continue to increase. Prior to Rackspace, Walter served as a Senior Solution Architect for JetBlue Airways and as a Senior Production Support Engineer for >10 years across various industries including Online Marketing, Financial, Insurance, Aviation, Food & Beverage and Education.

We'll focus on:

• Overall deployment process: the nuts and bolts

• Brief overview of AnsibleHow to make environment specific configurations

• Provide tips and tricks to handling the deployment

• Let's Build Your Cloud: interactive session

Topic2) Pets on Cattle: Making OpenStack safe for Business Critical Workloads - SUSE OpenStack Cloud 5 and SUSE Storage

This session focuses on SUSE OpenStack Cloud 5 and SUSE Storage.

Bio:

Pete Chadwick is the Senior Product Manager at SUSE for OpenStack Cloud solutions. Since joining SUSE in 2012, Pete has been responsible for bringing SUSE OpenStack to market and it's continuing improvement over all 5 versions, the latest, in March 2015. Pete has more than 20 years of experience at global technology organizations throughout his career including IBM, US Robotics, 3Com and SUSE.
