Monthly Meetup

We'll have a special guest at this meetup: Jo Holtan, creator of (among other things) Penny in Yo' Pants.

"A native of Fargo, Jo has spent the past 10 years working on development projects all over the world and is now settled in Scotland. She is the founder of an award-winning international education project at the Edinburgh University, creator of two TEDx programmes, and one of the co-founders of Cyclehack, a 48-hour global event to make cities cycle friendly. She’s currently working on developing a better Penny in Yo’ Pantsmodel – a simple yet revolutionary product to make any skirt bikeable."

After that, we will have our usual open lab time where we will work on projects. Come with ideas for projects, things you may have already started, or we'll try to match you up with an already existing project or idea.

Please comment below any ideas or projects you might want to work on.

Our working projects at this moment are:

• Adopt-a-Hydrant

• OpenTwinCities.org

I'm working on a wiki backed mapping project with roots in the twin cities area, and a community of 200 behind it. However I'm developing it as a general framework/site that people can use all over the united states.

Still a fit to chill and work on?

Hey TinyJ. Overall, we aren't very strict about what people want to work on, but try to make sure its "civic" in some way. It's a bit dependent on what it does and what issue its trying to solve.

As always, I had a lot of fun! I'm really sad I missed the cycle talk. :( My ridiculous driving / directional skills are to blame for being late. I threw together a google doc for anyone interested in reviewing what we did with git and github and anyone wanting to collaborate on collecting resources, and brainstorming ideas to make the next intro to git more helpful. :) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1oVlYDcdkCboHVJJ2wxWESXCLb_EHjBaeaeGLfPxgVGM/edit?usp=sharing
