Mozilla OpenXLab Berlin

Details
Join us for the first OpenXLab meetup at Mozilla Berlin about Open Hardware, the Internet of Things and Open Tech startups. We have exciting speakers including Rosana Ardila from Mozilla (Reps Manager), Lorenzo Pirritano, Prashanth Makaram (from Fabulyzer) and Larisa Kryuchkova (UVIZR). You are invited to a reception with beverages and snacks after the presentations.
The idea behind OpenXLab is to build future labs where people from various backgrounds can experiment, create new things and develop open hardware for the Internet of things.

SPEAKERS
• Rosana Ardila (Mozilla Reps Council)
Rosana is a language geek - Spanish, German, English, Italian... and Open Tech enthusiast working for Mozilla from the Berlin office. | https://twitter.com/rosanardila
• Lorenzo Pirritano
Lorenzo is a C++Developer and Open Hardware geek working on a Berlin startup.
• Dr. Prashanth Makaram (Fabulyzer - wear.breathe.track)
Prashanth is a recognized expert in hardware and nano-material sensor engineering and production, with over 10 years of experience in the industry. He has published widely in this field with a number of patents to his name. He loves Bisi Bele Bath, Living in Cities beginning with the letter ‘B’ and chasing discs and balls. Prash graduated with a Post-Doc degree from MIT and obtained his PhD from Northeastern Univeristy, Boston. Developing Products: A Next Generation Wearable device, based on proprietary nano-sensors, that smells your breath to provide a personalized indication of your fat-burn during and after activities. Awards: Granted 50000€ by grants4apps.com (https://www.grants4apps.com)
• Larisa Kryuchkova (UVIZR - Enjoy the Sun. Safely)
Larisa is an MBA, technical marketing and business development professional with experience in semiconductor and e-commerce. • Felix (Senic.com)
Felix is an Industrial Designer. He studied in Germany and Sweden and has designed musical instruments, cars and industrial machines.
• Chirantan (Senic.com)
Chirantan is a Computer Scientist. He has developed more than 20 commercially used software products and has been involved in the Ruby community from the beginning.
• Christian Schmidts
Christian is a computational or generative designer with a background in architecture. That means he doesn't design directly the final outcome rather a computational process from which theoretically infinitely many variations can emerge. In combination with novel fabrication techniques (CNC) it is possible to achieve an automated production, but with the ability to differentiate each artifact from those that are fabricated before and after. In one sentence: He aims to implement uniqueness (like we know it from nature) into the design and production process.
