Openstack Amsterdam September Meetup & Openstack 101

Time has come for another gathering of all Openstack & Ceph users in Amsterdam. This time, we'll have our first Ceph talk and due to high request, we'll run an introductory mini-workshop on Openstack for the ones that have no idea what this is all about. If you already have knowledge of Openstack, you can cut to the chase and show up at 19:00, when we'll start with the tech talks.

The tentative program shall look like this:

17:00 Introduction

17:15 Openstack 101 (bring your laptop!)

We will help install RDO (community distribution for RPM-based distros) on a VM on your laptop (please have Virtualbox installed) so you can get a first-hand experience of Openstack.

18:45 End of session, refreshments and mingling while waiting for more people to arrive

19:45 First talk: Taco Scargo (Inktank, @tacoscargo) talking about Ceph (title to be announced)

20:30 Second talk: Rosco Nap (CloudVPS) 'Developing and deploying a modern application on OpenStack'

21:00 Third talk: Oded Nahum (PlumGRID) 'Technical Intro to PLUMgrid OpenStack Networking Suite and demo'

21:45 Lighting talk, if anyone wants to get the stage for 5 minutes, more than welcome (please refrain from marketing pitches)

21:30 -22:30 More networking and socialising

As you can see, we'll cover most bases: networking, application and storage, so everyone will be satisfied (at least we try!).
