Openstack & Ceph End-of-Summer meetup

Details

For the end of summer we were gladly offered a space at Open Solution Providers in Diemen. We just added the second speaker so we're ready to announce the meetup to the world!

We have a first talk secured from Bradley Todd from Veritas:

"Enterprise workloads with high performance and reliability requirements can be challenging on an OpenStack platform. With over two decades of storage management software leadership, Veritas™ HyperScale for OpenStack is a massively scalable software defined storage system that delivers enterprise-class storage capabilities to your OpenStack deployment."

about himself Bradley tells: "I bring with me 14+ years of Operational, Implementation, Architecture and Presales experience in enterprise and large enterprise Storage, Business Continuity, High Availability and Data Protection. I started off my career shuffling tapes in and out of tape drives and libraries, and no matter how mundane these tasks were, I loved every second, because technology excites me.

In today's world where technology is shifting at a pace that is challenging some of the biggest companies this planet has ever seen, and I am even more excited. I am excited to be involved in these shifting times where Open Source, Cloud and Information Centric approaches are removing the chains from creative individuals and we can finally see what potential technology can bring to lives of billions.

I am a Husband and Father, South African living abroad, Apple fan, and secretly a geek at heart."

And a second one from Attilla De Groot from Cumulus Networks:

"Routing on the server in an OpenStack environment extends the capabilities of traditional routing protocols from the top of rack switch down to the server. Routing to the host allows the server admin to utilize equal cost multi-pathing capabilities on the server by using multiple uplinks in an active active role without bonds or Layer 2 networking. It also opens up the opportunity to make intelligent per tenant path decisions on the server, and increase automation scalability through minimized IP addressing."

Attilla has spent the last 15 years at the cutting edge of networking, having spent time with KPN, Amsterdam Internet Exchange and HP, with exposure to technology from Cis- co, HP, Juniper and Huawei. He now works for Cumulus Networks, the creators of open networking, where he is able to continue his interest in open architecture design.

Stay tuned for news! And, you're all welcome to join our slack organization (get a self invite here (https://openstackamsterdam.herokuapp.com/) ).
