Boston OpenStack User Group Meetup
Details
We have two hot topics for this meetup:
• Quantum
• Current status about the budding OpenStack Foundation
Quantum
Quantum provides OpenStack "network connectivity as a service", and while still in incubation as part of OpenStack, it is generating quite the buzz. The conversation will revolve around where Quantum is & where it's going and how it fits into the broader OpenStack environment.
Speaker:
Dave Lapsley is a Quantum Openstack Developer at Nicira Networks. Prior to joining Nicira, Dave was involved in networking research at BBN Technologies and MIT, led the development of a Cyber Security product at Sonus Networks, and worked for telecom vendors Alcatel-Lucent and Ericsson (Australia).
OpenStack Foundation
Since it launched, OpenStack has been babysat by Rackspace, as one of the main contributors to the project. Work is on the way to evolve OpenStack into a standalone organization, with clear governance and mission statement.
Speaker:
John Igoe, Executive Director of Cloud Software Solutions in Dell's Datacenter Solutions group.
Location:
The official address is: 33 Oxford St, Cambridge, MA. However, you can use this link (http://map.harvard.edu/?ctrx=759553.5&ctry=2963295.5&level=9&layers=Campus%20Base%20and%20Buildings,Map%20Text) to find the building (It's closer to Oxford street, but accessible through campus paths from Mass Ave).
About a 5 minute walk from the Red line Harvard T station. Metered parking is available both on Oxford street (limited) and on Mass Ave.
