EastEnders VOTED BEST SOAP AT 2009 AWARDS !!!!!

The votes are in and EastEnders was voted the Best Soap in the 2009 British Soap Awards. EastEnders took home the most awards, winning in 7 of 14 categories. Here are the winners:
Best Soap – EastEnders
Best Actor - Robert Kazinsky (Sean Slater - EastEnders)
Best on-screen partnership - Nitin Ganatra and Nina Wadia (Masood Ahmed and Zainab Masood - Eastenders)
Best comedy performance - Nina Wadia (Zainab Masood - EastEnders)
Sexiest male - Scott Maslen (Jack Branning - EastEnders)
Dramatic performance from a young actor - Maisie Smith (Tiffany Dean - EastEnders)
Lifetime achievement - Barbara Windsor (Peggy Mitchell - EastEnders) presented by Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell)

The Orange County EastEnders pay tribute to Wendy Richard, MBE. It is with great sadness that we note the passing of Wendy Richard, the lovely actress whom played Auntie Pauline. Ms. Richard passed away on February 26th, five months after announcing that the cancer that she had overcome twice had been terminal. We have a lovely group of friendly EastEnders Fans and Friends, including Yanks and Ex-Pats, and we really enjoy our brilliant get togethers at the Auld Dubliner in Tustin each month as well as our Field Trips to places such as Temecula for Wine Tasting, the Scottish Festival, the Getty Center LA, the Getty Villa Malibu, Movie Screenings, High Tea, and many more.

The Orange County EastEnders started as a handfull of strangers back in 2003 and we have grown into a fabulous group of over 150 friends whom have a right laugh getting together each month. Once you join your only regret will be that you didn't tuck in with us sooner! No need to dress up like a dog's diner but get your skates on and join us next time. Ta and chEErs !!!!!
