Announcing a new Meetup for Orlando Area Dining Out Group!

What: Historic Highland Manor - Apopka

When: July 14,[masked]:00 PM

Where: (A location has not been chosen yet.)

Set in the stately former Townsend's Plantation on 441 (Main Street) just at the intersection with SR 436, this beautiful Victorian home is filled with local history and ambiance. Highland Manor Apopka's chef and co-owner Jeff Mooney is bringing southern hospitality and old-world charm to his guests with an imaginative and surprisingly reasonably priced menu. Having honed his skills around the world; Chicago, Dallas, New York City and Dublin Ireland, Chef Mooney has received recognition from Conde Nast as well as the prestigious James Beard Foundation.

At Highland Manor they are extremely passionate about their food and about serving the community, from bee keepers to beef producers, they use only the freshest of ingredients from local suppliers and are committed to providing their clientele with world class cuisine at affordable prices.

Chef Mooney's mission is to provide a home away from home, an escape from the chain restaurant, a place with a heartbeat, where stunning surrounds stimulate senses and taste buds are awakened by the cuisine of a world class chef.

Choices of starters include a great Pear Salad with mixed greens, pecans, maytag blue cheese and raisins ($7), Lamb Chop Lollipops ($12), Asparagus & Pistachio Soup ($8), and a Southern Country Ham Platter ($10 - for sharing!). Entrees begin at $9.00 (for an 8oz Highland Burger with choice of cheese) up to $24 for Seared Sea Scallops served with creamed corn, hen of the woods mushrooms and a seafood broth.
