June Meetup

Come out for an open discussion about iOS technologies, iOS 7 announcements, and all other things Apple. Tentatively this will be an open discussion with no set agenda, but that may change if we get a presentation scheduled. We'll also plan for an open Q&A to help you gain some traction on your projects.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this month!

I really enjoyed the discussion yesterday. It was my first time participating and I had a great experience. I meant to ask this yesterday, but forgot. Many back-end systems relies on some sort of unique identifier to operate (lately the MAC address of the device). With iOS 7 no longer letting you get to that, Apple is pushing the identifierForVendor (I'll call it IFV) and identifierForAdvertiser (I'll call it IFA). IFV is not very interesting since it changes if the user uninstall and installs the app. So one of my questions is, can a non advertiser use IFA? Will Apple not like it if you're using it but you're not an advertiser?

Thanks for the link Andrew. I'm familiar with OpenUDID, which is being deprecated. So my question is, do you think Apple with frown upon non-advertisers using IFA or IDFA?

I'm actually brand new to the whole iOS dev scene, is this meetup too advanced for me?

We have devs with a wide range of experience. I would say if you're just starting this is a good place to get motivation and dive into the technology.
