January iOS Meetup

Happy new year everyone!

Now that the holidays are over we are going to get the Orlando iOS meetup swinging again. 2014 looks like it's shaping up to be a great year for tech, so if you've been wanting to dive into new technology or work on an innovative project this is the year to do it.

The agenda for this month is getting rounded off, but if you're interested in being part of the agenda, whether showcasing a project or presenting on a topic please reach out to us.

The folks from Filmscape will be filming for the upcoming Orlando Rising documentary, profiling our thriving tech scene. They will also be on hand to tell you a bit more about this initiative.

After Filmscape, Andrew Kozlik will be demonstrating Charles Proxy, a network debugging tool that allows you to see your network connections sent to and from your apps. He'll discuss setting up Charles, how to use it, and demonstrate the app reading network connections from various applications.

Looking forward to seeing you all!

As I have heard and understand it the elevators on the ground floor will deliver you to the 16th floor before 7pm. So arrive and press that elevator button prior to 7pm for smooth access.

A follow up on the Charles presentation from last night. Someone asked the question if the data could be changed by the proxy. Yes it can using Tools->Rewrite. You can also use Charles through the simulator (you have to download the script from Charles first at http://www.charlesproxy.com/assets/install-charles-ca-cert-for-iphone-simulator.zip)

Great meetup! Thanks to everyone who showed up. Our apologies to those who may have been locked out. Please tweet us at @echointeraction next time if you arrive late so we can grab you. We'll do a better job of having this information next time (elevators are locked down after 6).

When I arrived and found the elevators non-responsive, with a key card pad above the buttons, I tried reaching out to see how to get in. By the time there was a response, I had already passed out new and unworn warm clothing to the nearby homeless, found another artist for a project, and met up with an old friend. So the night wasn't a total loss. I'll be sure and try to make it earlier next time.

Could we extend topic to BDD as well?

    January 9, 2014

    • Danil Z.

I use calabash and don't find any difficulties with BDD way. It's more important and hard to change your mind to start thinking in BDD way rather use tools for it. Let's share our experience on meetup. Meetup looks very promising though. I hope no jams on my way ;)
