Have you ever wished to just have a coffee in the afternoon with your neighbor, just talking and enjoying company in the middle or at the end of a long day? This group is for people living in Orleans who want to get together for a cup of tea (or coffee) and conversation about gardening, programming, crafts, do-it-yourself projects, kids, cooking, books, art, you name it. I am scouting venues right now, but considering meetups at homes, cafes, maybe the mall or library...places in Orleans that would be friendly to a group sitting for an hour or more. Activities will include: Crafternoons, where we can bring whatever portable creative activity to share and do together; Afternoon Tea, time to just hang out in the busy day and catch a breath with friends; a book and/or movie club if there's interest; and a parent and caregiver's group if there's interest. Some meetups may actually happen at non-afternoon times, depending on the interest of the group, and occasionally perhaps a field trip out of Orleans for an activity. This is intended to be a group friendly to kids and stay-at-home caregivers. You know your own kids; if they can handle a meetup (remember, afternoon tea is also a good snacktime) then of course they are welcome. A neighborhood is made rich and interesting by the activity of its people.
