Are you intrigued by the history, literature, legends, mythologies, culture, art and music of the Ancient, Medieval and Renaissance worlds? Are you interested in attending medieval and Renaissance festivals? Are you interested in medieval-inspired or fantasy movies? If so, this new group is for you!

Some preliminary ideas for group events:

  • Attending medieval, Renaissance and Celtic festivals;
  • Casual group discussions centered on various themes and subjects (requiring only minimal preparation, such as Wikipedia articles);
  • Book club (fiction, Arthurian legends, history);
  • Group meet-and-greets;
  • Movies (medieval-inspired, medieval-fantasy and fantasy genres);
  • Conferences, public lectures, concerts, museum exhibitions, etc.;
  • Medieval restaurants in Montreal (and, as it turns out, there’s even a new one in Gatineau)

The group is targeted to enthusiastic laypersons, which means that no special knowledge or skills are required. Be assured that the organizer claims none whatsoever. But, of course, people with special knowledge or skills are very welcome too!

The group’s activities will obviously depend on members’ interests and suggestions. So, let’s take things as they come. After all, if we don’t try at all, we’ll never know.
