2. Food Break (Sponsored by Shopify)
We'll take a quick break to get some food in our bellies.
3. Alain Achkar on Ruby In The Browser
Alain Achkar (Homepage | Twitter) will be looking at Ruby in the Browser from a slightly different angle. His talk is titled "A Whirlwind Tour of Ruby in the Browser."
4. Edward Ocampo-Gooding on Maglev
Ottawa Ruby Team Leader, Edward Ocampo-Gooding (Homepage | Twitter), will be giving us a talk on Maglev, which is a 64-bit Ruby implementation that runs on a SmallTalk VM. Maglev enables persistent (ACID compliant), distributed Ruby objects -- any Ruby object, even blocks, procs and lambdas.
It also boasts increased, scalable performance, and the ability to store over a trillion objects. Pretty sweet!
