Martin Luther King Day of Service

Hey Outdoor Afros!

Let's have a day ON for Martin Luther King Day!

Join this annual gathering at Oakland's beautiful Martin Luther King Jr. Shoreline park where we will help restore and enjoy this natural treasure with our friends at Golden Gate Audubon!

Work at your own pace, and enjoy a picnic lunch afterwards!

Please wear sturdy shoes and clothes that you do not mind getting a bit dirty.  Bring a water bottle if you have one.  Instruction, tools, snacks and water will be provided.

Directions: From I-880 in Oakland, exit at Hegenberger Road and head west. Turn right onto Doolittle Drive (Hwy. 61) and right again onto Swan Way. You will then turn left into the park and drive to the last parking lot near the observation tower. See attached map

What a day. Meeting and working with new outdoor afros was a pleasure. Good work was done for the earth, and Reverend Martins name was upheld

Getting food shopping done tomorrow - planning on setting up a sandwich bar. What types of items are "must haves" - let me know and I'll do my best to get it!

Last questions, does anyone know what time the inauguration comes on? I would like to participate, so hopefully it won't conflict.

    January 17, 2013

    • La'Trisha

The inaguration happens on Sunday this year, so it shouldn't conflict with this event.

What was the worst event you guys attended. I set my bar low, and things look up from there.

    January 11, 2013

    • Rue M.

Worst? How is that a starting place? I don't have an answer, but I can wax poetically on all the positive experiences we have had!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
