Ice House Canyon hike

Ice House Canyon hike

Details

THIS IS A SIERRA CLUB HIKE WITH 2 TRAINED LEADERS.

We are the Sierra Club's Forest Committee.

Join us for an easy paced moderate hike ,(7.2 miles round trip,2'620 gain), up a lush forested canyon of Pine and Cedar, following a cool mountain stream to an over look of the Cucamonga Wilderness that we are trying to get expanded.

At the half way point, we will stop for lunch and write a brief letter to support the expansion of the Cucamonga Wilderness area.

Find out efforts being made to make the Angeles National Forest into a National

Recreation area; similar to the Santa Monica Mountains National Area.

For Your safety, please bring the following: Lunch, 2 quarts water, high top boots,(no trail runners or tennis shoes), dress in layers and bring raingear.

Sierra Club Leaders are Rick Farber and Juana Torres and we will be wearing

t-shirts that say," San Gabriel Mountains Forever".

Temperatures for Saturday in Ice house Canyon are upper 50s to low 60s and

it will be clear.
