An Excursion on the Fillmore & Western

A Special Train covering the entirhttp://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/2/4/4/c/event_234549292.jpege 29 mile length of the historic Fillmore & Western Railway with dinner and photo stops. Join us at Union Station at 9 am for a chartered motor coach to the Santa Clarita Valley for a day riding a vintage passenger train through the hills and citrus groves of Ventura County.

This trip includes a special charter train which will cover the entire distance between Montalvo (East Ventura) and Piru, featuring stops where you can leave the train to take pictures.

Onboard, we'll be treated to a BBQ luncheon in the dining car. Before getting back on the buses to return to Union Station, we'll tour historical exhibits on display.

Round trip tickets including the bus from Los Angeles Union Station are $129 for adults, $65 for kids 3 to 15. All proceeds over costs will go to support the educational activities and programs of Pacific Railroad Society, an all volunteer railfan group sponsoring excursions since 1936.

Be sure to arrive early as the bus departs promptly at 9:00 am. The excursion will begin at Gateway Transit Plaza on the east side of Los Angeles Union Station. I will be there about 8:45 a.m. Los Angeles Union Station is served by Amtrak, Metrolink, Metro Red, Purple and Gold Line and buses.

You can also purchase a ticket to board the train in Fillmore without the bus ride to and from Los Angeles. Train is scheduled to depart Fillmore at 10:30 am.
