Santa Ynez Canyon to Trippet Ranch Hike

This is a 5 mile round trip hike, about 800 elevation gain, and about 2.5 hours. This hike is moderate and not for beginners. This trail in Topanga State Park heads up the beautiful Santa Ynez Canyon. There are lots of sandstone formations.
This hike will start in a shady live oak glen, with a small stream, come out on to a drier ridge, then end up at Trippet Ranch, with a nice oak grove. We will take a snack break at the picnic tables and use the restrooms before turning around and heading back.
Wear appropriate footwear, sunscreen and a hat. Bring water and a snack. This park does not allow dogs.
Directions
From PCH: Take Sunset Bl east 0.5 mile to Palisades Dr. Follow Palisades Dr north for 2.4 miles to Vereda de la Montura. Turn left for one long block. Park near the end of the street and meet by the trail information board at the end of the Vereda De La Montura Street.
