Mystery hike : In the spirit of Huell Howser

Today I'm going to take you to a very obscure but well maintain trail in the High Country of the Angeles Crest..
Its a trail covered with Pines, Firs and Cedars trees !
A feast for the senses ! A trail that no Outdoor Meetup group knows about or has ever used !

At the halfway point we come out at a picnic area with flush toilets and a beautiful lake !
If you want to where we are going , you will just have to come along with us as we continue our search together for "California's Gold" The Hike will be 8 miles round trip with a 1,600 gain. No beginners ! the gain will be very gradual and I will hike at a leisurely pace. There is going to be rest stops and I wait for people at all forks in the trail.

I have been hiking all my life in the San Gabriel Mountains
and I try to keep you as safe as possible. Doing Outdoor Activities has a lot of risks.
Accidents can and do happen
They include: slipping and falling , unexpected bad weather, twisting a leg or breaking a leg ,sunburn, getting hit by rock fall etc. If you do not want to accept some risk, go to Disneyland and hang out with Mickey Mouse !
In my forty years of hiking I have never been seriously hurt. You have to be responsible for yourself .
What to bring : 2 qtrs. water, lunch, daypack, boots, first aid kit, sunscreen, sweater and rain poncho or Jacket and Adventure Pass. Dress in layers.
There is always a chance of a afternoon rain storm.
I don't expect to get rain on, but please be prepared !

We will leave at 9:00am sharp, no exceptions !
Please allow extra time for traffic !
