4th of July Viewing Hike - Rose Bowl Fireworks

We'll meet at the corner of Linda Vista Road and Figueroa St (if you are using mapquest enter 3300 Figueroa St)in Glendale at 7:30 PM. We will wait until 7:50 PM. Thomas Guide 565 C1.We should return around 9:45 PM. If you want to return earlier, it's not difficult to find your way back. We will mostly walk on residential streets. Then we will hike up a short trail. BRING SHOES WITH GOOD TRACTION OR HIKING BOOTS. Part of the trail is slippery if you don't have good shoes. At the spot we are going to overlook the Rose Bowl and see the fireworks from there! Walk/hike is less than 1 mile round trip. We will be walking/ hiking up hill. Beginners who are in decent/good shape should be able to do this. If you want to skip the residential walk, meet us at the end of Figueroa St a little before 9 PM.We'll be hard to spot since there are hundreds up there. Fireworks start at 9:05 PM. Bring water or liquids. Optional for beach towels/ lounge chairs to sit on-- it is dirt. Otherwise, you'll have to stand the whole time. Since there is a sign warning you of fire danger, DO NOT BRING CIGARETTES, FIREWORKS, LIGHTERS, ETC. Also, NO alcohol. OPTIONAL Potluck. Ok, if you bring flashlight.

This is a Sierra Club hike. You'll have to sign a waiver.
