Vetter Mountain Lookout Hike - K9 friendly

O: Vetter Mountain Lookout (5,908') 300' gain, 1.2 mi, 2 hrs rt on fire road.
Walk on the dirt road to the summit provides fresh smells of Jeffrey, ponderosa pine and mountain mahogany. The 360
degree view of the San Gabriels from the summit is spectacular. Meet 8:30 a.m. La Canada rideshare. Dogs leashed,
required water, bowl, and well mannered at lunch. Bring lugs, rain gear, lunch and good company. Depending upon
the weather and condition of the group we may continue to drive on 3.5 miles more to Mt Hillyer (6,200) from the Santa
Clara Divide road: 300' gain, 1.2 mi, 2 hrs rt on fire road and trail. Rain cancels. Ldrs: Cathy Kissinger, John Yard, Olivia
