The second flotilla event is now forming. For those who wanted to go again and for those who missed the first one, we're going back. Take a leisurely tube-ride on the Shenandoah for 4-5 hours and then participate in an all-you-can-eat steak and chicken dinner afterwards. How cool is that? Hit the water at 11AM and tube for 4-5 hours-we can go as slowly as we want. We'll hang ourselves up on a big log and chill/dunk as needed. And you can drop into the water at any point along the way. This is a relaxing, non-strenuous, social activity.
The food is excellent and it's definitely all-you-can-eat, with huge steaks and chicken. They don't give you two bites and expect you to keep coming back. Dinner is served at picnic tables in a covered pavilion out of the sun. There is also entertainment, (other than your fellow group members) which has always been pretty good.
We meet at the reservation center and take a bus to the water. If you want to be with the group, you need to make sure you get on that bus. If you are late, you will be put on later bus and will have to catch up on the water.
Also, at the end of the trip are great bath houses with hot showers.

Info as to what to bring, etc.:
Bring a snack/drinks to take on the water if you think you'll get hungry. You can get little inner tubes to float a coolor on and we usually have a few who get those. Some people go in together and get one for several people. They're about $6.
You will bring a towel and change of clothes, which will be left with the vehicles. There are showers when we get back.
Wear water shoes of some sort/old sneaks that can get wet-no flip flops. Obviously, wear a bathing suit, hat, sunglasses, etc. and wear/bring along plenty of sunscreen (waterproof). I cannot express "waterproof" enough.
For the most part, everyone will be going by way of Gainesville and out 66. For any who want to carpool, we will meet at the shopping center that has the IHop, Ruby Tuesday and Target. We will park by the Ruby Tuesday (on the Target side). It's about 1.5 hours from there so we need to LEAVE there before 9AM. So plan to be there about 8:30. Please update your RSVP to say if you want to join the carpool. For those who are running late or need directions, call the outfitter directly. They will be much better with directions and you can make arrangements to take another bus with them. My phone will not be going with me, so at some point I will be out of touch and they will be your only point of contact.
