African Safari

Hi Wild Animal Lovers, I hope all of you enjoy and embrace the warm weather now!

A route and plans are in shape for our first and exciting Safari in South Africa!!!

This is a semi-custom tour and involved 3 local operators. Here are the main spots it will cover:

We'll meet in Cape Town on Saturday, November 16th, SA Local time.

Then we'll have 2 days to go along the west cost to visit one of the world famous and beautiful beaches. Watch penguins, whales and other sea creatures, geological scenery and explore local markets.

Then we take the South African Premier Train having a cross country view of scenery of different provinces, the next day before noon we'll be in the other big city - Johannesburg.

Wwe are honored to be able to visit Kervin Richardson's Animal Kingdom and stay one night listening to the lions roaring, followed by our first game drive in the Welgedacht Game Reserve (they don't usually accept day visits to their Sanctuary and their volunteer program minimum covers 7 days which is impossible for us to do). Thanks to them!

***And I was promised Kervin himself would take us on a tour of his animal kingdom if we have more than 10 people! Wow...

After leaving Kervin's Animal kingdom, we'll start our 7-day National Kruger Park Safari - a true wild life encounter experiences - it will cover day time game drives, short bush walks to big five game areas and evening game drives to view nocturnal species. We'll have plenty of time for photographing and observing the animals we love.

***The cost: $2690

including accommodation (all breakfasts and most dinners, drinks excluded), transfers between events and activities, entrance fees, airport pick up (10-12am Saturday, Nov16) and drop off.

You'll need to book your own international tickets (multi-city, around $1000), and the Premier Train ticket from Cape Town to Johannesburg (Tuesday, Nov 19, R2650/around $260. Unfortunately the economy class train I originally planned was not available in November, so we'll need to take the Premier Class that includes all 3 meals plus afternoon tea and coffee, very comfortable beddings with delux sleeper.)

We'll leave on Thursday 28th Nov (local time) from Johannesburg, arrive in US on Friday or Saturday depending on your flight, so you can have at least a full day for recovery on Sunday from the long distant travel fatigue and Soothing yourself down from over-excitement of our first exciting African Safari and ready back to work!

Summary of the route:

• First group meet at the frontwater lodge, Cape town 1:30pm Nov.16

• West coast tours for marine life, beaches and scenery 8am-4pm Nov 17, 18

• Take the Train to Johannesburg Nov19 9am-11am Nov 20

• Kevin Richardson's conservancy Nov 20-21

• Stay overnight in Johannesburg before Safari Nov 21

• 7-day Kruger National Park Safari Nov 22-28

• finish SA Safari, depart Nov. 28 late afternoon

***Age: 16 years or older. Children younger than 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Because of the nature of this particular Safari involving bush walks, please be sure you're strong enough both physically and psychologically.

***What to Bring:

• sunglasses, sunblock, a cap to keep the bright sun away

• Camera, flashlight, swimsuit, comfort shoes. Warm clothes for night drives

• Recommended for Malaria precaution:

"take precautions against malaria which include protective clothing, insect repellent & if you wish to use medication – Malarone tablets (or similar name) are the best for Kruger Park"
