(This walk has been changed from Wednesdays to Tuesdays, in order to not conflict with the Kirkland Wednesday Farmers Market.)
A great way to unwind after work is a walk from Kirkland Marina Park to Wavery Beach Park and back. The walk is full of fabulous views of Lake Washington and the Olympics. Its flat* and not very long (~ 40 minutes, depending on your pace and if we don't stop). If its hot outside (!) you can dip your toes in the water at either end. Oh, and there are bathrooms and water fountains at both parks.
*There is one hill down to Waverly Beach park.
We'll meet at Kirkland's Marina Park by the large, open-air pavilion. I'll bring a sign. There is parking there, or on the street, or about 2 blocks up Market Street at Heritage Park.
Although I prefer to walk briskly, we can split into groups according the pace people want to walk.
After the walk people can continue to socialize in one of the many great places to eat in Kirkland, from totally informal to rather posh. I probably won't join because of previous commitments.
If it is raining hard I will not show up. But, others can still brave the weather and meet.
Please be on time. We will wait for 5 minutes. If you are late, and you know the route, you can always drive ahead and meet us on the way...
