Chat & Play

This is going to be a bit on the informal side, since I'm out of town much of the month and won't be able to do a lot of prep. That said, there's a lot of interesting stuff coming out at the moment: Spring Thing games, ShuffleComp games themed around different songs, some cool commercial pieces, as well as the new version of Inform. I'll bring along a couple of games from that lot to share, if people want to play together.

I had a great idea on the way home, inspired by Richard's suggestion that a game shouldn't have any more than 15 rooms. Having thus limited my ambitions, I've come up with something much simpler. I'm also trying David and Joey's approach of doing all the coding first, then the text second. I hope to have something to show you all by the time the next meeting comes around.

Well I wish you the best of luck with that. Hopefully you won't come to regret it when you have to write all the descriptions in a row. (Incidentally, it was Melvin that was with me— David wasn't in attendance.)

Oh, sorry Melvin, I got confused. No, I like writing the descriptions, that's the best bit! Getting everything to work is the real headache.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
