Our 2011 season is over, but get ready for spring 2012!!
So you like the outdoors? You say you like adrenaline? How about meeting great people ?
Then stretch your legs, put on your running shoes and steady your aim! Because now there's laser tag...outdoors!

Outdoor laser tag is a slightly different type of game than indoor. Scratch the day-glo paint and the dry ice, insert mountain sides, boulders, streams and blue skies. It's essentially the same game as paintball, but without the bruising, mess or equipment. Oh, AND without the cost; it's (almost) FREE *(see battery policy below)!
Laser tag doesn't actually use lasers; it uses infrared beams, like a TV remote, so it's completely safe. You don't have to wear vests or hats; the sensors are on the gun or "tagger". I provide all the equipment necessary, including radios.
The game is mainly a running and sneaking game. There is no contact between players. You will need to be fit and have a good sense of balance and coordination. We will be playing on hilly and uneven terrain, so if that is outside of your comfort level, it's best not to participate. You should wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and sweaty in, and that are ideally dark colored so you can blend in more effectively. Running shoes or hiking boots are a must, as well.
During the past few times we have done this activity, we ended up playing for three to four hours and having a blast. It's a great time, a chance to use muscles you never knew you had, and an opportunity to meet like-minded people.
We typically meet on Mt. Tabor at 10:30 AM each Saturday or at Laurelhurst Park 6:30 PM on Thursday evenings. I will email you the exact location when you RSVP.
You can either bring your own 6 AA non-rechargeable, fresh batteries or donate $1 and use mine. (See here for a comparison.)
Here is a video explaining the gear we will use: Click here for video explaining gear
Your profile must be correctly filled out to indicate you have read and agree to Portland Laser Tag's Waiver. Additionally, I will have you sign an acknowledgement form before the game commences.
Cancellation policy:
If the weather is poor, I will cancel the game at least 2 hours before the event start time. I will also post the game status, either "on" or "off", on this webpage 2 hours before the event as well. I will contact those that are signed up by sending a Meetup message. You may also call/text me.
To sum, you are basically running around shooting at each other in a hilly forest. You drive to the park, you meet me with batteries or $1, and we play; that's about it. It's been an exhilarating and entertaining experience each time we play.
