WWDC Discussions

Wow.  What a keynote! Way more developer changes than I expected.

And then the shocker of a completely new programming language - Swift.

We'll have plenty to talk about so bring your questions and insights.

We'll try to organize the topics so if there is something you'd like to talk about let me know and you can lead that part of the discussions.

It was great! I liked hearing everyone's perspective on the new iOS features. Thanks Julio for organizing, and everyone for contributing their view point!

Good discussion tonight. I promised a link to this article: Apple's WWDC unveiling of HealthKit in iOS 8 grabs the attention of doctors For folks who are concerned about potential HealthKit privacy issues, there's this news from March: Apple's new privacy counsel hire hints at unannounced health program

regrettably now have to work late. I am not an iOS coder - I work at the Apple store and like to learn what folks are up to and how the keynote was received by the developer community. Oh well - maybe next time.

    Wish I could make this!

    In any case...

I'm a mobile developer with ~5 years experience on Android and have published 2 iOS apps. I have a B.S. in Computer Science and have built solutions for Qualcomm, Intel, Northrop Grumman, and Ball Aerospace, and others.

I currently have ~25 hours of time per week to contribute to iOS dev work.

I prefer iOS dev, but I also specialize in Linux admin, test automation, embedded C/C++, multi-threaded design, and scripting.

Feel free to message me: [masked]

I am most excited about HealthKit, HomeKit, Swift, and Interoperability between apps in iOS 8.

I'm cautious/skeptical about iCloud Drive, UI changes in OS X Yosemite, and the new Photos app for the Mac.
