Rob Allen with Getting started with Slim 3
Slim is a PHP micro framework that enables you to write powerful web applications and APIs. In this talk, I will give an overview of the upcoming version 3 of framework and show how you can easily write maintainable applications with it.
We will look at how Slim's middleware system leverages the new PSR-7 HTTP request and response definitions to create easily understandable and flexible applications. We will cover application setup, routing and the relationship between actions and middleware. By the end of the session, you will be equipped to create Slim applications yourself.

Andrew Carter with Here Be Dragons: PHP at Its Limits
PHP application frameworks come with many well known benefits. The Request-Response structure exposed by many of these frameworks also gives us the opportunity to reduce overheads in our applications significantly. This talk gives a brief overview of the process, the dragons, similar technologies that are already available to use and why similar techniques are going to become a lot more common in the future.

Parking
There is onstreet parking two minutes' walk from the venue on King's Road, but if this isn't enough The Oracle and Queen's Road are both sizable car parks.
----
Building Access
As with last time, access is a bit difficult as there's a swipe card system to get in, but I'll be outside the building from 1845 to help get you in and we'll have others ready to ferry people up. If you have any problems accessing the building, let me know on 07812 995 301.
----
Food and Drink
Our hosts Austin Fraser have kindly offered to supply pizza and drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
