Welcome to the Meetup Page of Picture This! Photography Club of Hampton Roads
My name is Ralph and I am the head organizer of this fun group. I have been a member of this group for almost four years and many dear friendships have been made. Here you will meet a wide range of photographers, from beginners just learning how to operate their new cameras, to professionals who use their skills to make a living, and every level in between. Members of this group are always willing to share their information and skill. This is a social group and we believe in having fun, so you can expect a lot of tech talk peppered with good laughs.
We regularly meet on the first and third Thursday of each month, but photo walks are scheduled any time there is something of interest to shoot in the area. Anyone with an idea for shooting is welcome to post it in the "Meetups in the Making" section. We also have monthly contests; find more information in the "Pages" section.
While this group is free to join, we do have one requirement:
You first need to meet at least one of our organizers in person. In order to do this, you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will plan according to everyone's schedule. Because our meeting nights fill up so quickly and we have to keep waiting lists, we may have to meet at some other time than our regular meeting nights.
Once you have met one of us, you will be granted access to view all our scheduled events and register, as well as participate in photo contests and discussions, and you will be granted access to our Facebook page if you request it too.
To remain a member, you will also need to meet the following requirements:
General requirements: Read all of the "Pages" before posting anything, including pictures, to the site. Visit the site at least once every three months.
Attendance and RSVP Requirements: If you sign up for an event, you are expected to show up. We understand that things happen, but as a courtesy to others who may be on a waiting list, we ask that you change your RSVP a minimum of 6 hours prior to the time of the event posted. We now take attendance and no-shows will not be able to register for the meeting following the no-show.
