POLAR: Is a brand-new social group for people through-out the wider Sydney area, living with the ups and downs of Bipolar Disorder and the various forms of ‘unipolar’ Depression.

My name is Tamara. I have experienced mental illness first-hand through the challenge of coming to grips with my own diagnosis of Bipolar 1. Through my journey with Bipolar and the desire to connect with others who are learning to live with these insidious illnesses - I found little in the way of established support groups here in Sydney, for people dealing with Bipolar or Depression.

Getting out there and socialising is crucial to recovery – and POLAR will be a forum where people with Bipolar or Depression can be among peers who genuinely understand. I will be organising a full range of social activities from simple coffee get-togethers, dinners out, movies, museums & art galleries and more.
