Welcome. We are Chapter 796 of Parents Without Partners Inc. (PWP).  We are pleased to announce that we are the largest PWP chapters of single parents in the New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania/Delaware region.  PWP is an international non-profit organization dedicated to helping single parents socially through supportive, fun and educational activities. Our chapter provides face-to-face networking for single parents of all ages, 20's - 70's, with young or grown children. We are all single and we are all parents moving on with life.  We provide activities for single parents with their children in the form of family events. We also provide a way for single parents to meet other single parents and socialize at group functions without their children. Our chapter of PWP currently has 170 active, paying members. Fifty percent of the membership is age 50 and younger with children under age 18. The other 50% of the membership is over age 50 with adult children no longer living at home. This Meetup website is a means of advertising and communication for the Saratoga/Capital District chapter of Parents Without Partners (PWP). Joining this Meetup website, does not make you a member of Parents Without Partners. If you are interested in joining Parents Without Partners or in learning more about PWP, you are invited to look through this Meetup site, meet our members at any of the public events which are open to non-PWP members, attend our Orientation and Open House listed below or contact us at 348-2062 for further information. Each event on our jammed, packed Calendar will specify which functions are for "PWP members only"(because they are being held at a private residence) and which are open to the rest of our friends on this Meetup website. Remember RSVPing on this site allows everyone to see who is planning to attend an activity - that's a real plus in energizing our group - so please do RSVP "Yes" whenever you plan to attend an event. Once people see that you are going to attend, they will be much more likely to attend also. The more the merrier too. And, after you have attended an event, please remember to come back to Meetup and "Rate" the event, check out what other members are saying in their ratings and post your photos of the event if took some, so that everyone will know what a good time people had.

So, stop sitting at home on your computer. Come on out and plan to have some fun meeting new friends face-to-face because that is what we are all about - good times, friendships and getting on with life.

OUR NEXT ORIENTATION AND OPEN HOUSE WILL TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY, MARCH 3, 2012 

What is Orientation?  It is a way for you to learn more about Parents Without Partners, our local chapter and what we have to offer to you as a single person.  We will tell you about many of the monthly activities and what you can and cannot expect by joining Parents Without Partners. Come and hear what we are all about - you are never obligated to join.  Just enjoy a fun evening with us and meet some of our members. Then after our Orientation and Open House some of us will continue the evening with a bite to eat and additional time getting to know each other better at a local restaurant, like Ravenswood - so please keep that in mind as you are very welcome to come along, whether or not you are a member.

Our Orientation starts promptly at 6:45 PM and is followed by our Open House. It is usually held the first Saturday of each month at the Shenendehowa Adult Community Center, at Clifton Common in Clifton Park, NY. Contact our Infoline at  348-2062 for further information or just to let us know you plan to attend, although reservations are not required. Children are welcome at the Orientation and Open House.

If you can't make it to the March 3, 2012 Orientation and Open House, please join us on Saturday, April 7, 2012 same time, same place or at any other function during the upcoming months which we have listed as open to Meetup site members as well as PWP members. There is no Orientation in December due to our Holiday Dinner & Dance.
