How this got started.

In December 2004, I was with a bunch of dejected Democrats, volunteers on the Kerry campaign.

Someone asked "what should we do next?"

Having spent the Fall cheering "Football Fans for Kerry" and "PackerBacker's for Kerry," and embracing the name the staff gave me

"BackerBackerBob!" (even tho I'm a full on Bears fan) it hit me immediatly:

The Super Bowl is coming up.

Let's hijack it for Democrats.

After all, it's the biggest media event of the year. And Everybody loves a Super Bowl party - it's a great excuse to have a party in the dark days of winter, a month after the Christmas festivities have faded.

So I hosted the first ever "Smart People's Super Bowl Party".

PackerBackerBob! sez "A Smart Person is someone who can tell

when somebody is Full-of-Shit."

The next year, having spent the summer and Fall fighting against the Iraq War, with Cindy Sheehan, the Iraq Veterans against the war and others, I put on a "Fighting For Peace" Super Bowl Party.

After that (it was a disaster - the musicans I brought in turned out to be assholes), I took a break.

But now the universe seems to have aligned.

Wack job GOP presidential candidates. 90 percent of the public approves of Obama's State of the Union goals, Indiana passing the insane 'Right to Screw Workers" bill. The Super Bowl in Indianapolis Victories for us People in Wisconsin, Ohio and others My new book coming out "PackerBackerBob!'s Guide to Global Prosperity" The NFL players supporting us Bears great QB Jay Cutler supporting us The Occupy movements Unions standing up stronger than ever The Generation 99'ers coming of age - they are the next "GI Generation", the same ones that won WWII
