Palouse Harvest Photography Tour with Teri Lou

Details
The Harvest Photography Tour
The Harvest Tour will be the longest with a full day of photography on a private farm that will include photo ops with Maddie, the best farm dog ever, a combine ride and stories of farm life from Rod a third generation Palouse farmer. The other days will be packed from sunrise to sunset with barns, patterns, harvesting, and vista photo opportunities. Midday skies are often dark blue with puffy white clouds that blend perfectly with the patterns and textures of the rolling hills. Evening light adds both warmth and shadows in perfect contrast.
As an added bonus Teri Lou will offer a 4 hour iPad processing class during the this tour.
August Harvest Tour Schedule
Day One:
The tour will start with a meeting in the hotel lobby at 2pm for introductions, carpooling assignments, one-on-one review sign ups and daily schedule discussion. After check in we will have an early dinner in Pullman and head to our first photography location for sunset.
Day Two - Four:
One day will be devoted to photographing a third generation farmer’s family homestead. During the day you will get a tour of the barn, mechanic garage, an old school house and fields. Through out the day you will have an opportunity to ride in a combine as it harvests this year’s Palouse Gold, wheat crop. While in the combine you can ask questions and take photos. Afterward from the fields you can capture the working of the equipment up close and personal. As an added bonus Maddie, the best farm dog ever, will love to pose for various photo ops and even do a few tricks. We will end the farm tour with a visit to the granary bins to see the complete process.
Each day the schedule will vary depending on weather, which locations we visit and how long we stay there. Everyday we rise early, just like the farmers, to photograph before and after sunrise at a couple locations. Around 8:30am we return to the hotel for breakfast. Then we will meet again with a packed lunch to venture for several hours, sometimes until after sunset. The schedule will be adapted to the weather and photo opportunities that are presented throughout the day. Most days there is an afternoon break to allow time to recoup with a nap or process your images.
One afternoon we will have a group review of the images captured during the tour.
Day Five:
In the morning Teri Lou will provide an opportunity for 30 minute one-on-one reviews to all participants. These reviews can include images captured during the tour or previously.
In the afternoon Teri Lou will teach iPad processing from 1-5pm for anyone who is interested. During this 4-hour course students will learn every day processing workflows, different blending techniques and how to use masking for selective adjustments. A variety of complete processing workflows will be demonstrated. An iPhone or iPad will be needed for this course. The suggested apps will be provided to those who sign up.
In the evening we will order pizza and then capture the golden light of sunset.
Day Six:
On our final morning we will awake early for sunrise, shooting at two or three locations before heading back to the hotel for breakfast and hotel check out preparations. Participants are welcome to depart at anytime.
