Hello, just a few comments about the badminton club as 2013 gets well and truly on its way.

1)  CSU LOCATION - Remember that you need to show a PIBA card to access the South Paris location at CSU (apparently it was slightly incorrect of us to refer to it as CROUS). It's not necessary for the rue de Lancry (République) venue.

This card entitles you to 10% discount from the only specialist badminton shop in Paris Plus de Bad ("+ de Bad"), rue Fagon near place d’Italie. It's friendly and great value.

2)  IMPORTANT NOTICE – LATE CANCELLATIONS & NO-SHOWS

Both locations still suffer from people signing up and then not coming. This blocks other players from being able to attend as well as putting pressure on our low prices, so please please please:

- Try to cancel as soon as possible if you have RSVPed ‘yes’ and then can’t make it… it’s no good cancelling at midnight on Saturday after one too many Bacardi and Benzedrine bodyshots

- Don’t sign up for multiple sessions on the same day

- Do try to get out of bed and turn up if you have said that you are coming.

Repeat offenders will be charged late cancellation fees! Obviously we appreciate that sometimes stuff happens...

3)  NEW PLAYERS - remember that it costs just 15 Euro for membership until July and then 6 Euro each time you turn up. If you don't join it's 10 Euro each visit.  Either way a cheap and sociable way to get fit and stay healthy.

4) COACHING - If the interest is there, we will try to offer more coaching sessions at the CSU venue, particularly during the morning session.  We could look at the grip, serving styles & practice, refresher on the rules and simple tactics, and hitting the basic strokes.

5)  FINALLY, players from the midday-2pm group at CSU (South) usually go for a drink or two afterwards to the WOS Bar, 184 rue Saint-Jacques (near Panthéon) so do join us if you're thirsty. We've negotiated a happy hour deal on pints of Kronenbourg (5 Euro).

Otherwise it's been a great start to the year and we look forward to seeing more of you over the following weeks.

Regards, Sean & Jon
