This Meetup is being launched by E-Democracy.org as part of its new Participation 3.0 initiative. See: http://e-democracy.org/p3 In 2010 we will be identifying and fund the top ten next generation online civic engagement ideas that should be universal for all local communities. Through your local Transparency and Participation Meetup you will be provided ideas to discuss, add to, and prioritize for your local community which will be fed into the broader effort.
